There is a recent spike in Covid cases in Shanghai with almost 1,000 cases reported yesterday.
The local government has enforced strict restriction on some housing estates with cases by locking up the estate from a period of 48 hours up to 14 days.
Many establishments have to cease operation. The malls are not spared. Though the stores can operate as usual the shoppers are few. The F&Bs are hard hit with restrictions on in-dining.
Many residents are confident that the retail industry will rebound. Brands need to re-think new strategies and stay at the front of the start-line. The shoppers will be back with a vengeance. As it happened before.
